« The Siege of Malta « is a historical novel written by Sir Walter Scott in 1831-1832, published posthumously in 2008.
As, due to Sir Walter’s decaying health, the novel was not conidered up to standard, publication of the manuscript was suppressed, until both parts of the novel were finally published only in 2008. Especially the latter chapters received very negative reviews.
